NOW AVAILABLE FOR DB2, DB2/4 & MK III

Amongst the numerous refinements and modifications available for the Aston Martin owner, traditional hydraulic power steering systems have provided a remarkable performance for many years in terms of handling and comfort. However, these systems have the drawback of adding drag on the engine equal to a decrease of approximately 5 horsepower. A hydraulic pump runs regardless of whether steering assistance is required. In fact, the power cost of the pump is highest at high speed, when steering assistance is least needed. Hydraulic power steering kits available can be costly to install but more importantly clutter the engine bay with non original parts, including a maze of pipes, a pump and a non original rack that in some cases may induce unwanted changes to the characteristics of the steering.

Over the last few years we have been developing a system which solves the problems found with hydraulic systems and the results are quite astonishing to everyone who has experienced it. Our electronic power assisted column is completely hidden underneath the dash with no visible signs from within the vehicle or even in the engine bay. The system doesn't alter the character of the vehicle in any way and in fact enhances the driving experience. It is truly quite staggering how even parking becomes a surprisingly easy task. It is only when the system is switched off that you can fully appreciate how beneficial the conversion is to your Aston Martin.

The whole system can be turned off simply by the flick of a switch at any time and in the unlikely incidence of a power failure the column will revert back to the feel of a standard column unlike hydraulic systems that can suddenly become extremely heavy in the event of a failure such as a belt breaking or fluid leak. The column is completely silent in operation and the level of assistance can be adjusted to suit any driver. The system can be fitted to either positive or negative earth vehicles and are available for both right or left drive models.

All conversions are carried out to customer supplied columns which can be sent direct to us for conversion which normally takes around 7 - 10 working days. Full fitting instructions and a fitting kit are supplied although we advise the the system is fitted by your local Aston Martin specialist.

Please note that items not included in the conversion are repair or replacement of the column switch and fittings, horn push assembly, steering wheel and boss, steering rack and front suspension. We offer a no obligation free steering and front suspension health check prior to purchase/installation. To arrange this please call 01280 851100 or email us to arrange a visit.
